Shoeless Access Reviews (SAR) 21-25

Thank you for smoking: this movie started off awesome! very funny and interesting then it got kind of boring... well not really boring but just like it just turned into a movie instead of being funny and out there. I still think it was a great movie but they just should have stayed on course from the first hour or so and then it would have been a great movie

My Super Ex-Girl Friend: this one was pretty funny as well. I like Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman is really hot as well as the other chick who is in all hte scary movies anna something. Also Dwight from the office had a great role and it's good to see Eddie Izzard getting some parts in Amercia. He's great but not wildly known here in the states. Overall this was a decent not-too chick-flick movie. Its too bad they cracked down on the pg-13 and R ratings a while back b/c this one would have been good unrated or R with some "sexier" scenes... never the less still decent

I'll start with 300...

300: I got TWO WORDS for ya... BAD MOTHER shagging pooper!! great movie, visually stunning. great special effects, graphic story taht doesn't hold back on gore, sex, anything. I think a lot of people were uncomfortable during the movie b/c of how graphic it was but man i loved it! Another thing I really enjoyed was that it didn't have mr 25 million a picture playing the lead. Everyone in this movie was a realitive unknown and that's what i'm all about. They saved millions on acting and got every penny's worth out of who they used! VERY GOOD MOVIE! GO SEE IT!

man of the year: good movie, if you like robin williams you'll like htis one. If you don't like him don't bother b/c he pretty much holds the movie. Lewis Black and Christopher Walken do a great job as well but the plot as well as the comedy were good enough on their own.

Fastfood Nation: i hadn't heard about this movie and it seemed like it was a liberal agenda movie set to a "plot" but i enjoyed it none-the-less. It had some pretty graphic (real) slaughter house scenes in it and personally i've been to a slaughter house kill floor in person and so it didn't bother me too mcuh b/c most of teh intensity from that is from the smell but i'm sure it'll change a few opinions too. avril liveign (sp?), greg kinear, and fez from the 70s show were a few of teh main characters and they all did a good job and weren't out of their element, there were also bit parts from bruce willis, Patricia Arquette and ethan hawk... so i was kind of surprised that i hadn't heard abouut this one before hand. if you've got teh stomach for it then check it out.

The Last Kiss: kind of a chick flick. not as good as it could have been, had a good bit of boobs but still not a great movie. This is a prime example of a movie that I will forget in about a year.

Stranger than fiction: Good flick. Will Ferrell is excellent and the plot was funny and interesting. The ending was good as they didn't completely cop out and go with the cliche and also didn't go too artsy... they combined the two

Zoom: good kids movie. If you like Tim Allen type humor then you'll like this movie. Great stuff at times and chevy chase did a great job as well. I hope to see more movies with both soon. I enjoyed this movie even with the cheesy comic themes.

The Presteige - not bad. Not realistic but that kind of made it interesting b/c you didn't really know what the "twist "was goin to be. Michael Caine pretty much always does an excellent job and Hugh Jackman did a good job as well. The jury is still out on that other dude (the new batman) but scarlett johanason was hot and david bowie had a camio. I wouldn't really want to see this one again but it wasn't bad to watch once

The Devil wears prada: was the sux! not a good movie pretty much at all. It was a chick flick with a bad ending and really nothing for a straight guy to enjoy at all. The love story was the type that I absolutely can't stand where they make the lead girl a shagging lady of the night and glamorize it. She had the "perfect" guy back at home and then she gets this shagging job and what happens? he stays around being perfect and she goes and changes... everyone shagging sees her changing and she doesn't care. then she says "we should go on a break" and then she fucks some other guy... then they never talk about it or anything and blah blah blah it's a shagging terrible movie!

Shoeless Rating: nausea, heartburn, indesgestion, upset stomach and diarhea are better

Mission Impossible III: probably the best of the MI series so far but still not great mainly b/c of Tom Cruise. I think as long as he's working and i'm not i'll be bitter but it was a good movie. PRetty much non-stop action and a decent plot. The twist wasn't too "crazy" but most wouldn't swee it coming. The only thing missing was the badass rock version of the MI theme by POD instead of hte original score.

The Illusionist: great movie, keep my attention the whole time and also had a great story that did a great job holding the plot, keeping it realistic and interesting. I liked this movie even more so than the presteige (another magic movie). Ed Norton is a great actor in everythign he does and jessica biel is SMOKING HOT all the time. no nekedness but still good.

Eragon: only problem i had with the movie was it was too short. There are some movies that you can make 2 hours long and everyone will be bored to death and other movies that if you don't make 2 hours long you short the plot and story.... this was the latter. This shold have been a 2.5 hour epic movie like lord of the rings but better but instead it was barely 1.5 and seemed to cut out way too much of the plot and made it less interesting and cheesy instead. i still want a dragon of my own though

Shoeless Rating: sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif sarcasm/rock.gif (could have been a 4 but too short)

The Lady In the Water: So i heard nothing but negatives about this movie before i saw it , so maybe i had lower expectations than usual but i really liked this movie. Bryce Dallas Howard has some of the prettiest eyes you'll ever see and if you can get past the fact that she looks like her dad she's really hot too. I liked this movie and thought it was well done. Not really scary or anything but that's more the public's fault for pigeonholeing M. Knight Shabangbang into sometihng instead of taking him for everything. I liked this movie and would recommend it as long as you go into it with an open mind for someething different.
