As soon as the Conference Champions are set and bowls are being projected I'll give my take again much like I did back in 2006 but with updated teams and explain how the system SHOULD be.

I'm far enough behind to do another one of these right now:
The color of freedom:
The story of nelson Mandella, Great movie, great story, unbelievably great! see it and get someone else to see it.
Higherdef rating: 5
Black book:
European movie all in subtitles about a jewish woman who sleeps her way around WWII and the Nazi warlords in order to help a few people out and be a slut along the way, ok, not really but it is a really cool and interesting movie. Pretty long for the type of movie it was, and a lot of the emotion was lost on me in the translation to sutitles but still a good movie.
Higherdef Rating: 4
Dog bite bog:
Asian movie with some good action scenes. Lots of random fighting (which seems par for the course now days) but a decent flick. Probably wouldn't watch it again though.
Higherdef Rating: 3
National Lampoon's beta house:
Yeah, I'm a guy. This movie was all it was supposed to be except with more cussing and drinking than I expected. I seriously hope people don't act like this b/c they didn't act (quite) this bad when I was in College, but then again I actually graduated so I wouldn't know how some people behave lol.
Higherdef Rating: 2
The tripper:
Weird freaking movie... I mean WEIRD! with a capital W! David R-O-Ket is the director and this movie was just strange. It was full of lots of insane ax murders the whole time and most were pretty dang funny to watch but only if you were with someone who likes that kind of humor anyway. but as a whole, not a good movie.

Dang I've been slack (and busy)... but i'm back with some reviews!! yay! I haven't stopped watching movies just reviewing them opps hehe
Four sheets to the wind:
eh... it's been like 4 weeks since I saw this movie and it wasn't really that interesting or memorable so I'm gonna just have to p@$$ on this one.
Higherdef Rating: 0
Lord of war:
Great movie! lots of good action scenes and a good plot to boot! Basically it's about an arms dealer's life and how he's trying to balance a normal life with his gun running business. Great movie. Very underrated. The opening scene is one of the coolest montages I've seen in a movie in a long time too. Check it out.
Higherdef Rating: 4 and a half
Killer wave:
Not a surfing movie. Not a terrible movie but I think I was expecting some kind of bad@$$ surfing movie and it wasn't so I was disappointed.
Higherdef Rating: 3
Captivity:
Creepy and disturbing and with a plot that was lacking. Could barely watch it.
Higherdef Rating: 1
Sicko:
Mr Moore can really make a case for whatever he believes in, unfortunately he likes to leave out a lot of facts just so he can look right. I wish to God that America was capable of running the healthcare system as well as he thinks other countries do but we can't, and in fact! other countries don't do a well enough job there either. But it wasn't a terrible movie, it just depressing b/c we are stuck in a world filled with greedy starfishs who walk all over the poor and then there's the flip side to that where the poor don't want to work to get anything they just wanted it all handed to them and until BOTH sides do something about it... and here in America, that ain't gonna happen. Nice try Mike.

We've got a new President!
Some are happy some are not...
Me? I'm still undecided. I never really liked either candidate and had many issues with their policies and ideals. I never felt confident in either but narrowed down my selection based on the "lesser of two evils" plan. With that being said, I choose to with hold my voting preference to myself but I will write this blog anyway.
We'll know how important this decision is in time but we will start seeing the effects of this election immediately.
First of all, I'm not much for politics but I'm going to take a stab at this one with my opinions and since all of 3 people might ever read this I'll try and keep it short and sweet.
As much as I didn't want it to be, this election was in large part decided because of Race, and that's unfortunate. Not that a "black man" won but that this country, in 2008, would still be hung up on something like the color of a man's skin. If Martin Luther King Jr was alive he would be proud and sad all at the same time this day. MLK was a great man who once said (and I'm paraphrasing b/c I don't know the exact quote) that he never wanted someone to NOT judge him by the color of his skin, but rather the content of his character. If this is the case, I don't think Obama got a fair shake from many voters. I think too many people voted for AND against him based SOLELY on this fact and that bothers me.
I think ALL people who voted for Obama should be proud tonight not just "Black" people. You got what you wanted and you should be happy. I think that this election is a huge step in the healing of racism in America but it won't be the "be all end all." It'll take a lot more for some people and again... that's unfortunate. I'll never understand the hate that people can hold towards another race or ever understand the pain suffered by a race under oppression, but I can see the effects and it pains me. All I can do is pray for those involved and leave it in God's hands.
Now moving on...
I really hope that Obama can help our ailing country in the next few years.
I really hope that the rumors and accusations against him are false and that his promises and ideas are worthy.
I hope that the country can move forward and out of this economic depression.
I hope that all my concerns in policy towards Obama are proven false and that I can rest easy that my business and my loved one's health are covered.
I hope I hope that Obama unites people from all corners and that every fear is erased by the end of his tenure.
I hope that if (when) Obama faces criticism from the press and public and doesn't seem to be the greatest president in the universe anymore, that people won't think that's b/c of his race.
I don't know what the future holds for this country but I do know that I have faith... in God! God will take care of us as long as we have a healthy fear of Him and put our trust in Him.
I pray for my family and friends and I pray for the safety and success of our new President and... I pray for our country.
God Bless America and keep us safe.
Note: I really didn't double and triple check this blog for grammar and structure errors so please forgive me :-)
