Need to get some movie reviews out there for youz-guyz

Evan Almighty:
I'm a fan of Steve Carrell and, of course, Morgan Freeman and the 1st "Almighty" movie was pretty good too but the first was more of a chick flick love story and the 2nd was more of a save the world family movie. I thought they went away from the original character that Steve played and added to him a family that seemed a little strange. Add to that the liberal use of the flood story for the sake of telling a pretty unamusing story. Not a bad or terrible movie by any stretch of the imagination but definitely not a great movie by any stretch either.

Altogether i was entertained but i'm not rushing out to buy this movie or anything.

28 weeks later:
Let me start off by saying I thought 28 days later was a very good, borderline, GREAT movie and that when I heard they were making a sequel I was disappointed and yet still excited. I knew this was going to be one of those either really cool movies that was made b/c they actually had come up with a great secondary storyline to follow the original or one of those really stupid movies that was forced into production b/c the 1st was a hit and they wanted to make more money. This was kind of a combination of the those but with a lean on the "hey, let's make more money" approach.

So someone actually is immune to becoming a zombie apparently and it runs in the blood (much like the virus). blah blah blah, mom and the kids now have to try and survive another zombie outbreak with not nearly as intense action or suspense as the original. After an hour and a half of the same plot twists as a 15 year old could come up with i wasn't as pleased with this movie as I would have liked.

Death Proof:
This was the 1st of the grindhouse double feature that Terintino and Rob Rodgieuz (sp? for both) made...

I'm just gonna come out and say it... this movie was terrible. I mean really bad. It dragged as a plot and the action scenes weren't very interesting and I know they were trying to be different in the cinematography and the editing (and they succeeded in this and it was cool to watch) but they also failed miserably in putting a good movie on the screen...

I did end up watching the 2nd part of hte double feature later, but you'll have to wait for another SAR for that one

Need to add a few more reviews to catch up...

1408:
I enjoyed this movie for the most part, I watched all the special features and such and decided that I liked one of the alternate ending more than the original ending that they chose. I think John Cusak did a great job and Stephen King, again, writes a good one. I know his movies are different than his books (sometimes by a lot) but he has a lot to say about the scripts and movies before they hit theatres and I think Stephen King is border line genius for some of the stuff he writes sometimes. Samuel L Jackson didn’t have as big a role as you would have thought after seeing a preview though. They really hang on his “star power” and that was kind of annoying to see him only have a small part.

Anyway, I enjoyed this one. Pretty cool, not too scary though.

Next:
So its another one of those “I can see the future” and we can change it movies… This wasn’t terrible but it was a little cheesy. Guy (Nicolas Cage) has “the gift” and also a grudge against, what seems like, everything. Anyway, he meets Jessica Beil and they hit it off and they get chased around by the bad guys and the gov’t who are both after his abilities. So anyway, jump to the end and (of course)… they set it up for a sequel. Actually, if I were going to see a 2nd movie from the list, this one wouldn’t be a bad one.

I’m looking to the future and I don’t see myself seeing the sequel in theatres either…

Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Hey! i just talked about a sequel and now I'm reviewing one! go figure!! I never cared too much for the original Fan 4 but whatever; I think that people get an idea on how they can make a lot of money and go for it and don't really care what kind of crap they are actually putting out there. I mean, it's another super-hero comic book movie. I used to like comic books, when i was like 10 but then i got older and got a bike and started liking girls and i guess i just moved forward but then I see that they are always making comic books into movies... and NOT FOR KIDS! this movie was rated PG13, not PG or G. I mean, Superman, batman, and spiderman are at least kind of cooler comics with more moral driven stories but the fantastic 4 is not something that i'm that interested in. In fact, the only person I know who liked the comic book before the movies refered to himself and his "drinking buddies" as the fantastic 4 when they went out... and let me tell you, it was gayer than that just sounded too...

Anyway, i've been sidetracked and ranted for long enough so i'll just rate the dang movie already! lol. It wasn't a bad movie, i just don't like the comic movies that much but this one wasn't terrible...
